Casualties have been reported in Barmal, Zirok, Nika and Giyan districts of Paktika province, with greater than 500 injured, based on Bakhtar. CNN is unable to independently verify Bakhtar’s reporting.
The company assigned the quake a yellow alert stage, indicating some casualties are potential and that the affect needs to be comparatively localized. Full casualty figures are usually not but clear.
