WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The USA helps the Philippines in calling on China “to finish its provocative actions and respect worldwide regulation within the South China Sea,” the State Division stated on Friday.
The Philippines final week lodged new diplomatic protests in opposition to Chinese language maritime actions inside Manila’s 200-mile (321 km) unique financial zone.
It accused China of “unlawful fishing” whereas Chinese language coast guard vessels shadowed Philippine boats on a resupply mission, including to greater than 300 complaints filed in opposition to Beijing’s actions within the South China Sea.
The USA shares the Philippines’ considerations, the State Division stated.
“These actions are a part of a broader development of PRC (Individuals’s Republic of China) provocations in opposition to South China Sea claimants and different states lawfully working within the area,” State Division spokesperson Ned Value stated in a press release.
