Long Silence and Development Timeline for Elder Scrolls 6
Bethesda announced Elder Scrolls 6 in 2018 with a teaser trailer, but has provided few details since. Todd Howard has previously stated the game was announced prematurely, and development has been slow, partly due to the focus on Starfield, Bethesda’s other major RPG. Xbox acquired Bethesda in 2021, which has raised expectations about the game’s future. As of now, no official release date has been set, and the game remains in development.
“I can tell you, having visited Bethesda and sat with Todd and seen ‘Elder Scrolls’ playing, it looks promising, and development appears to be progressing.”
